Sea Kayak Tour: Day Trip

Summary

Our full day sea kayak adventure consists of an exploration of the outer harbour and an authentic Newfoundland boil-up on a secluded beach. What is in season determines what we eat and what wonders are in the harbour that day dictate where we go! On this tour you may get the opportunity to kayak amongst icebergs, whales, waterfalls and so much more!

The full day kayak adventure in Cape Broyle begins with an exploration of the inner harbor allowing paddlers to get comfortable and find their groove before heading into the more exposed conditions of the outer harbor and if weather conditions allow, the headlands of the bay.

After exploring the inner harbor and the outer reaches of the southern side of Cape Broyle, a lunch break can be taken at Lance Cove as long as conditions permit safe landings. A lunch here will allow for the paddlers to get ashore, stretch, eat authentic Newfoundland cuisine and provide a photo opportunity for them to overlook Cape Broyle harbour.

From this point wildlife and weather conditions will dictate where our adventure goes. No groups will leave the bay and head into exposed waters. There are many features to explore throughout the outer harbor and the paddlers will find exciting routes around sea stacks and caves.  Note: approaching these features is to be determined by the guides after an assessment of safety is made.

Throughout the outer harbor, paddlers may be fortunate to see a variety of wildlife including possibilities of various species of whales, seals as well as porpoise.  Our eagle-eyed adventurers may even spot different species of seabirds as they pass by Cape Broyle harbor.

Returning to the origin point will most often be along the north shore of the harbor.   There are many features, including the falls along the north shore, that offer perfect photo opportunities.

On this full-day adventure you will experience waterfalls, caves, sea stacks, headlands, pocket beaches and a visit to the mouth of the harbour which provides a view of the open sea from a little boat!  Not to be missed!

NB.: All clients are required to complete a mandatory safety talk and orientation prior to departing. A Waiver of Liability is also required to be fully read and signed by all participants prior to departure.
