Sea Kayak Experience - Half Day
Summary:
This intimate tour allows you to view some of the most breathtaking scenery Newfoundland has to offer via tandem (2-person) kayak. During your 3 hours on the water you will enjoy the beautiful harbour of Cape Broyle where there are plenty of wonders to experience. Wonders such as sea stacks, sea arches, sea birds, sea otters, eagle nests, waterfalls and whales all nestled among scenic views of high cliffs. This tour is perfect for people of all skill levels, including novice paddlers and families. Come join us for a half-day on the water while having plenty of time to explore the other culturally rich opportunities along the Irish Loop.
Getting Here:
A Wilder Experience is located in the community of Cape Broyle (pop. 489), located approximately 60 kilometers South of St. John’s International Airport. This scenic drive, referred to as The Irish Loop, takes you back in time through a number of small communities, each with its own unique history. Follow Route 10S to Cape Broyle, past the Riverside Restaurant (an excellent place to eat Fish & Chips or Moose Burgers!), past the Ultramar take your next left onto Southside rd. You will find us ~500 meters down the road on the right-hand side. Park in our driveway.
Trip Details:This trip is 3.5 hours from arrival to departure. It includes 3-hours of paddling and 30 minutes of basic on shore sea kayaking instruction.

Guests should bring:
- Reusable water bottle
- Shoes that will get wet - i.e. sandals or old running shoes. Bulky shoes such as hiking boots or rubber boots are not recommended
- Sunscreen and sun protection - i.e. hat, and sunglasses
- Weather appropriate clothing - i.e. Synthetic, wool, or athletic wear. Please avoid wearing cotton or jeans, warm and cold weather layers are recommended.A small snack
Age, Weight & Size Restrictions:
Children must be at least 50lb to fit the requirements of our youth lifejackets. The upper weight limit of our tandem kayaks is 225lb per paddler. In the event that a paddler exceeds this weight we may be able to offer you a single kayak for your comfort.

Weather:
Please be aware that this experience is highly weather dependent. Although we operate rain or shine, we will not operate in high winds. For your safety we diligently monitor the forecast and will notify you no later than 2 hours before your scheduled tour time if we must cancel. If we must make the difficult decision to cancel your tour due to weather, you have the option of rescheduling your tour for another day or requesting a full refund.
